Excursions Climbing Santa Elena

DESCRIPTION

    On the Portezuelo located at his feet is the monument to Cristo Redentor (3848mm), work of the Argentine sculptor Mateo Alonso, placed there in 1904 to commemorate the diplomatic solution of acute conflict of boundaries between the two Nations.

    With its almost 4,595 m.a.s.l. has the distinction of being one of the more accessible high mountain summits of the central zone of the Andes chileno-argentinos, the Saint Helena stand as an excellent option to acclimate and a viewpoint of unbeatable position towards the big ones that surround it. It is located on the southern bank of the Libertadores step over the line of the highest peaks that divide waters, forming, thus, part of the political border between Argentina and Chile.

    This is the optimum itinerary considering the acclimatization and weather conditions.

GEAR

    PERSONAL GEAR each tourist will have.

    Upper part of the body:
  • 1 t-shirt sleeve long polypropylene (first skin) + 1 replacement
  • 1 polar + 1 micro polar or similar
  • 1 jacket of pile or fleece
  • 1 Gore-Tex jacket
  • 1 pair of thin polypropylene gloves
  • 1 thick polypropylene pair gloves
  • 1 pair of Gore-Tex gloves (replaceable ski gloves)
  • Sun Hat + wool cap or Pile and Balaklava
  • Jacket Feather


  • Lower part of the body:
  • 1 underwear polypropylene (first skin) + 1 replacement
  • 1 polar trousers, thermal or similar
  • 1 breathable trousers and windproof Gore-Tex (snow)
  • 1 Trousers trekking (days of trekking approximation)
  • Gaiters
  • 2 pairs of socks (2 polipropileno thin and 1 polipropileno thick)
  • Boots or hiking shoes
  • Double Mountain Boots (external of plastic) or leather.

  • Medium backpack 70 lts. App. to be transferred by each participant with everything you need for 2 days
  • Adjustable trekking poles(telescopic)

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Normal route does not present any technical difficulty. Desirable experience in mountain, (otherwise we'll teach you), proper clothing and fitness according to the activity.
