Cumbre Nueva

Excursions Climbing Alto La Posada

DESCRIPTON

Located in its nearly 4,300 m.s.n.m. ventured into the international road between Los Andes and Mendoza, in an area dominated without counterweights by the Aconcagua mount, there rises this imposing Hill of rocky buttresses and slightly aggressive aspect, with endless rain gutter that is well worth climbing, "but with snow".

Curiously, this hill is represented in the official emblem of the School of Mountain of the Chilean Army, , In which it appears in the background, behind a condor, which has the extended wings and that with its claws holding an ice ax, a cane and a rope that is interlaced between the last two. This should not surprise that at the top of the Hill, may consult at least two Summit books, signed mostly by conscripts and personnel of the mentioned military Institute.
